It's often what I say here... if you remove the 1% of the population in England (located often in the City) with highest revenues, you will realise that the situation is not that fantastic in comparison to France (people are just complaining less).

I could not find quickly enough the same number for France...
So don't know if there is still a difference in the median salary.
What I know is that when I arrived over here I started with a job at the low end salary for my job, and It was still 50% more after taxes than in France.
